We’ve seen the future and it’s Greenery

In the world of colour matching Pantone arguably rules the world. And, for 2017, the Pantone colour of the year is ‘Greenery’.
Pantone describe it on their website thus: ‘A refreshing and revitalizing shade, Greenery is symbolic of new beginnings.’ Which makes it rather appropriate for weddings does it not?

Every colour has a meaning and the meaning of the colour green is alluded to in the Pantone description. An expansion of that can be found on colour psychology.com who describe green as:

the colour of growth, the colour of spring, of renewal and rebirth. It renews and restores depleted energy. It is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of wellbeing.

And, according to The Colour Wheel,

green is the colour of nature. It symbolizes growth, harmony, freshness, and fertility. Green has strong emotional correspondence with safety.

So, as you think of your life ahead with the love of your life and start your wedding planning journey, the symbolism of green makes it the perfect colour to incorporate into your wedding decoration and venue styling.
You can add as much or as little greenery as you want. Whatever the colour scheme you choose, you can’t go wrong.
After you have chosen your dress you will be thinking of your bouquet and wedding flowers – an ideal opportunity to be bang on trend with greenery.

Hanging Floral Garland

When it comes to decorating your venue I am just in love with hanging florals – and greenery can play a large part in such displays.
Add lots of trailing greenery and pops of colour to create a stunning and unusual visual focal point.

Some venues don’t like paper confetti and you can understand why. It can be a devil to clean up. But you can opt for natural confetti instead as in this illustration.

Your wedding cake is a focal point in your wedding and you can add greenery here too.

As for the shoes – well don’t get me started on the shoes! Just take a look at these beauties.
